Great Start!

Thanks for all of your tremendous positive and thoughtful energy during our first few weeks together. I appreciate your welcoming & open attitude, your intentional conversations about your work, your participation in our varied activities while together as a staff, and of course, the amazing work you've been doing with kids. We are off and running and in a great place. I hope you feel this, too!

Our next challenge is to keep the great energy and desire among students to learn going. I have no doubt that we can do this. Let's be sure to keep supporting and encouraging ourselves and our colleagues as we go.

Below and above are examples of the many exciting, engaging and challenging learning opportunities some of us captured this week. See if you can determine the MRG's being addressed in these images and post a comment about your ideas.

These 9th grade students to the left are 'playing out' the importance of work habits.

These Spanish students are participating in an activity called "wide open". They were required to stay inside the rope circle and work collaboratively to reach the objects outside the circle. It required problem solving, trust, creativity, humor...and it was fun.

Things to consider:

1. Our next BP on 9/22 will focus on reflection and feedback sharing on the learning scales you are building and using. Please be thinking about how you are going to use these in your classrooms before the 22nd. Reach out to your colleagues, myself, or Bill R before then if you need support.

2. Be looking for an email from me soon about our 2015-16 Danielson goals process.

3. If you are looking for upcoming co-curricular events - view the link to the right.
