August 29 - In-service reflection
August 29
“Every Team has a culture. You don’t have a choice in the matter. The only choice you have is whether you will be intentional about shaping the culture. It won’t be easy, but it’s important.”
- Wally Bock, from 4 Vital Truths of Team Culture
Our staff culture was truly awesome during in-service. I greatly appreciated seeing us listen thoughtfully, challenge gracefully, and question often. We were in a place of proactively and creatively developing the culture and school we want and need to reach our optimal state. Thank you for contributing to the ‘Strengthening of the US’. I will work hard to feed our fire. You can help by keeping up the positive and productive momentum. Thanks!
One of my favorite moments from in-service was our discussion on Flow. I’m very intrigued by this concept and have begun to dig up different excerpts, writings, etc on this topic. This is a brief excerpt on Flow Theory that you might find helpful and it gives some concise ‘implications for teachers’. Enjoy and thanks again for your positive energy, hard work, and commitment to each other and the PA Community.
FYI - In Service Exit Card Feedback. Thanks for your thoughts
