May 26 - Have a great long weekend!

We're getting very close to the end of the academic year. This is exciting, overwhelming, and challenging. We see more than the light at the end, we see what is beyond (Summer!).  This is a time when tensions can run high, patience can thin, and stress creeps into many pockets of our lives. Hang in there!
It's easy to make mistakes and skip important steps when we are under pressure this time of year. I made several mistakes this week with some of you and students. I'm trying to slow down, think carefully, and find moments to relax. I encourage you to think back to the many conversations we've had about Cultivating Resilience and taking care of ourselves and each other. We shared ideas to build energy and strength during your classes, during open time in your schedules, and when you are on your own. We can do simple things for each other, like expressing gratitude, high fiving, or giving hugs. Let's be sure to look out for each other, trust each other, and stay strong in these final weeks.
And, be sure to take care of yourself. I know I will find time to do things I enjoy this weekend, so that I can come to school next week energized and positive. I hope you can do the same for yourselves.
