April 14 - One week to go

Students prepping for Wednesday night's concert.

We are heading into the time of year when student exhibitions, testing, performances, trips, etc seem to be occurring almost everyday. If we were a sailing ship, we'd be heading into high winds, choppy waters, and crystal clear skies. In other words, we want this challenge and excitement. And, while its an exciting time of year, as you know, we need to hold on tight and try to enjoy the ride. Thank you to everyone who is helping to provide awesome high level experiences for our students in your classrooms and various activities, and to everyone who is trying their hardest to smooth the waters with some less than exciting things (ex: Vt Cognia Test).

Quote of the Week:

“If we knew there was one thing that would substantially – even swiftly – narrow achievement gaps and increase overall achievement, would we implement it?”

 - Mike Schmoker (“We Need Coherent, Teacher-Built Curriculum – NOW!”; Educational Leadership, February 2023)
