April 7 - Starting to feel like Spring, dare I say it?!
Congratulations to the PA Science Olympiad Team, who placed 3rd* as a team at the state competition, which was held last weekend at the University of Vermont. For those of who don't know, Science Olympiad is considered a ‘track meet’ for scientists because there are many events that teams compete in to gain points. The events cover a wide range of science topics. The team with the most points at the end, wins. Some event titles are: Trajectory, Scrambler, Forensics, Codebusters, Anatomy & Physiology, Cell Biology and many more. Numerous small teams placed 1st in their individual events, including seniors Eric Grover, Josie Simone and Sawyer Beck who all won TWO events. (*And, the two schools that beat us, well they are division 1 (LARGE) schools, so 'per capita' we did damn well.)
Thank you Leslie, Karsten, Rita and Matt for supporting the team and logistics....and giving up a Saturday.
