April 18 - Have a Great Break!

As we head into break, let's take this rainbow that was over the school road just a few days ago as a sign of hope and good fortune headed our way during and after break. Thanks for keeping our students active and engaged and holding down the fort this past week - the week before break is always a bit tenuous

A word on the Budget....

I'm sorry about the budget situation that we are experiencing. I know this is alarming and causes a wide range of emotions, concern, and worry. I, unfortunatley, do not have any more information to share beyond what you've received from the superintendant in the last few days.

I trust that tomorrow's school board meeting will provide us with more clarity and inform our next steps, and hopefully ease many of your concerns. If you are interested in doing something proactice I imagine that opporunities will emerge and I welcome your collective thinking on ways to help us move foreward.

I know that the administration and school board will work extremely hard to support all of you and preserve jobs. And, as a Morrisville commuity member and LSSU employee, I am confident that we will get the budget to pass this third time because I believe this communinity will ultmately rise to support and protect our children.

Please keep the good vibes going...it's going to catch on.

Updates/Reminders:

DRAFT End of Year Schedule- Please DO NOT share this information with students, yet. We still have a few minor details to sort out with the seniors. I wanted to share this with you now so that you could see what days exams land on, when seniors are done with classes, etc. I know there are some concerns about students missing June 17 & 18. Please see me or a leadership team members for help and ideas about those days.

New Phone System

Over April break, we will be starting the installation of our new phone system. Here is what you need to know:

Stowe Schools will transition over April Break.

Morristown Schools and Central Office will transition the last week in June.

Dial by extension from Morrisville to Stowe will not work until the end of the project. In the meantime, if you need to call someone in Stowe, you will need to dial the main number for the school and ask to be transferred.

We will forward more information as we get closer to Morrisville part of the project.

Are you on PARAre your students on PAR

If not, we can help. This PAR document outlines the academic responsibilities that students will need to complete to continue participating in their co-curricular. This process starts with the school counselor. If you are concerned about a student athlete who may be falling behind in your class, report this to guidance. They will follow up with Gabi and start the process.
