April 11 - That was cool!

Thank you everyone for your diligence and hard work to complete grades on time! I know it's no easy lift and I appreciate your pateince and diligence.

Huge shout out to all the people who helped make VTCAP (state testing) go smoothly and effectively, especially Tarah, Karen, and Bill. There is a ton of background work that goes into preparation and lots of extra work for the teachers who facilitate the testing. Thank you for your time, energy and willingness to step in and just do it!

Quote of the Week:

“Effective listening requires more than hearing the words transmitted. It demands that you find meaning and understanding in what is being said. After all, meaning is not in words but in people.” -Herb Cohen

Updates/Reminders:

Are you on PAR? Are your students on PAR
If not, we can help. This PAR document outlines the academic responsibilities that students will need to complete to continue participating in their co-curricular. This process starts with the school counselor. If you are concerned about a student athlete who may be falling behind in your class, report this to guidance. They will follow up with Gabi and start the process.

Celebrations:

Vermont 4/8/2024 3:28pm

The Peoples Academy Science Olympiad team traveled to the University of Vermont for the statewide Science Olympiad competition this Saturday. A highlight was Sage Norsworthy & Phoenix Masten winning gold medals in Disease Detectives. Many other individual students gathered up numerous additional 2nd and 3rd places and the team finished 3rd overall in the STATE!

Congratulations to Ainsley Grant, Sophia Lam and Liam Watson who were recognized for individual excellence in acting and the Vermont State Drama Festival held this past Friday and Saturday at Otter Valley High School April 5 & 6. Gracie Chase was also recognized for her specialty with lighting. The Peoples Academy Stage Company did not advance to the New England Regional Festival, but placed in the top 5 against a highly competitive statewide turn out this year.

Happy Birthday

Courtney Emerson 4/16

Jim Calhoun 4/17
