10/30 - mIx It uP

Hello all,

Thanks to everyone who helped with the Haunted House set up, clean up and chaperoning. Lots of HS and ML staff volunteered to support the effort. Thanks! It's a tough time of year to give extra and I know those kids truly appreciated your support. The event was very well organized, fluid and realistic. My kids didn't make it to the end and both woke up in the middle of the night from nightmares, so it was very effective, too! (Dumb daddy probably should not have brought them?)

A few more quick updates/Reminders:

Mix it Up Day - From NHS: For Mix it up day, NHS members are leading a group activity. We have asked if we can use the teachers rooms, and while some have said yes, not every teacher has been asked yet. If a teacher is not comfortable with us using their room, can you let Carmen or Morgan know? I am going to attach a link a link for the activity that we are going to do, and we may also show a video on anti-bullying, which means we would need access to each teacher's smart board/projector. We came up with a different gym activity than the writing on the backs, we are having a bingo game, where people need to find someone that has colored hair, plays soccer, etc, so that we can get different people talking to each other. Everyone is going to eat in the lunch room, and their table assignments are based on a number that they pick. We know that it is going to be a tight fit, but we are counting on people being absent and thought it would be a fun way to just get a little more comfortable with everyone. Let me know if you have any questions or suggestions! Thanks!
