April 22 - Welcome Back

Who knew PA looked so good in blue!?

Welcome Back. I hope you had a restful and enjoyable break. This is one of those times of year when it feels like the pace of life and school picks up faster and faster each week. It is also the time of year when we try to do lots of great stuff with students. Please be sure to notify your colleagues of any upcoming trips or events that will impact student schedules. There are lots of interruptions coming up, mostly for good reasons. Thus, please take a look at the Calendar below and prepare as needed. Good luck with the last 8 weeks of school. I'm looking forward to a strong finish to a great school year.

The  Quarter 4 timeline is available. Please take a close look at the final grading dates and let me know if you have questions or concerns. You may have a few students who need to use the make up day on Friday, June 14, but otherwise, you will likely have all assessments wrapped by June 12th. We expect to 'turn around' verification during in-service on June 17. We will dedicate Best Practice time on 5/20 to help you organize and plan ahead.

Culture Corner Update: 

When we return from break, we plan to have a whole school conversation in TA about strategies, such as, use of Flex Time, to encourage academic success and meeting targets by the end of the school year. This will be designed both as a 'pep talk' and reminder that there are ways to both excel, catch up and get on target.

In support of this, can you please:
    1. Continue to call back students to your Flex
    2. Take time to sign up and follow up with your Advisees during TA
    3. Take attendance during Flex as soon as possible and let Michele know of missing students
    4. Promptly ask students that are not assigned to your Flex to leave your space (and let Michele know that you had an extra)

Congratulations to Grace Darrow who was selected to represent PA and speak at this year's Stowe TEDx event. The event will be held at Spruce Peak Performing Arts on May 9th.
