Happy Holidays - end of Year

The Faces of our Community: #YouFitIn, project is literally starting to take shape. You may recall Carrie, Averill, and Moira introducing this project back in August. They've been hard at work with planning and now the wheels are starting to roll. The images above show students in English classes practicing 1:1 interviews in preparation for interviewing community members about their careers and role in community, while other students work in Art classes on flags representing important people and businesses/organizations in the community. There is more to come as the year progresses....stay tuned and prepare to see these flags downtown this Spring!

Thank you Amanda for your hard work, dedication, and for spreading your love and care to our school community. You've touched many students in special ways and have had a significantly positive impact on our school culture in a short time. Thank you and farewell. Hopefully we can find some ways to bring you back next semester to continue your work with teachers and students.

Celebrations:
The High School Band/Chorus raised a bunch of money last Wednesday night by preparing a meal for the Middle Level "Expo Night'. The night involved the dinner, art show and music concert. Oh, and, a few fun rounds of GaGa ball.

Speaking of.....Congrats to following students who were accepted to Northeast District Music Festival, held each spring in Newport.
CHORUS

WIND ENSEMBLE

And......Edward Habeck and Alex Johnson were accepted into the New England Music Festival this year.  Edward will be playing trumpet again in the NEMFA orchestra, and Alex will be playing clarinet in the Band. This is quite an auspicious accomplishment, as both had to audition with extremely advanced solos and were competing with students from around New England.

Happy Vacation!!

Happy Birthday:  Karsten Weiss - 12/21
