March 18

As always, the Stage Company put on amazing 1 Act performances. Congratulations. The show did not advance to states this year. Individual awards went to Aiden Lodge, Gabby White, Emily Hess & Abbey Boudreau.

This week is pack full of in-service time and opportunity for communicating. First, if you have not already done so, please check out  Learning Spaces and sign up for Friday's workshop opportunity. You can also read about the *plan for the day in Learning Spaces. Second, please encourage students to have their parents sign up for conferences. This is excellent opportunity to check in with students and parents. Finally, Wednesday we will focus on data analysis and discussion on proficiencies and Scholarly Habits. On Wednesday, we will start our work in the Library at 12:30. We will finish our work on Wed and Friday at 4pm.

*Specific to Friday: When reviewing the plan for Friday you will notice that we will be discussing Scholarly Habits in small circles facilitated by your colleagues. It is important to sit in your assigned circle as we are trying to keep #'s small in each circle. Thanks. Below is a list of the prompts to help you think in advance:

Prompt: Which of the scholarly habits: perseverance, social skills, mindsets, or learning strategies Do you feel most successful observing, modeling and/or giving feedback to your students? Why?
Prompt:  Describe a moment of success in your classroom in implementing scholarly habits and working towards your school based goal?
Prompt: How would you communicate to either students or families the role that scholarly habits play in a proficiency-based learning system?

And, I'd like to thank Van & Dalton in advance for presenting our Scholarly Habit work to the LSSU on Friday. Can't wait to see the show!

Message from Leadership Team:

As the final weeks of Quarter 3 twindle away, we encourage you to take some class time to have students check in on their 'status'. Ask them to review their Schoology gradebook and assignments to see how they are doing and determine what they need to do to improve. If they have questions and needs ask them to sign up for Flextime with you. Thanks!
