12/16 - Happy Holiday Break

PA Band members provided a meal and cheer for the PAML Expo night and Concert

We are at the final week of the calendar year. While we have a long way to go to complete the academic year, we've come far and have lots to celebrate from 2020. Thanks for your hard work, dedication to the PA community, and laughs. Happy New Year and have a great break.

*These will be the last notes until January 6th.*

There have been a number requests and inquiries for support on Trauma Informed Teaching strategies. The HS SST (Student Support Team) is forming a team to design and lead a plan and process that will deepen our understanding and tool kit to better Foster Resilient Learning at PA.  The team will include teachers and staff from both PA and PAML. The work will begin on January 13th, 2019 and starts with this workshop series. The high school members will be 1-2 teachers, Anya and Carrie. If interested, you will need to commit to a 2-5 session workshop series, a year+ of planning (roughly 1 meeting per month to start), and a leadership role in the execution of the plan. Credit is available. We need to move quickly, so if you are interested please see Phil by Tuesday. Thanks. (Carrie, Lindsey, Anya, Dan G, Kate B and Jim C can also help explain the big idea.)

A colorful mural installed in a subway station. Just for fun, if you like traveling and maps, and maybe you are doing both in the coming weeks, you will likely appreciate this interactive map and story.  This map makes me think of lots of curriculum and/or schoolwide project ideas. What would an interactive PA Map look like if we all contributed?

Congratulations to Dalton and Karsten who are the Co-Winners of the 2019 Green Mountain Air Force Association STEM Teacher(s) of the Year. Way to go!

Thank you to NHS and all of you who helped PA donate 298 toys & gifts to the Lamoille Family Center Toys for Tots drive. Special thanks to NHS for delivery and distribution of the toys, which required overtime and weekend time.

Happy Birthday: James Chauvin (12/27), Greg Hermanson (12/30)
