December 10 - S'mores anyone?

Thank you for your efforts & time to analyze and consider our school culture with each other and your students. Many good ideas and rich conversation has and continues to occur throughout the building - in classrooms, in the hallway, in TA, and elsewhere. Our students are engaged in this work. Maybe not all of them (yet), but multiple times a day I walk into, classrooms, get stopped in the hallway, or receive an email with ideas and positive energy on the topic of our school culture. The good news is that students, not just you, want to make things better, for the right reasons. The older students want to leave PA in a better place, the younger students say things to me like, 'everyone should have a friend and wouldn't it be great if everyone had an activity that connected them to school and more people.' The challenge for us will be organizing the effort, harnessing the energy, funneling the ideas, and taking collective & consistent action.

Speaking of action, I want to update you on three things coming related to school culture.

1- A short video (5+/-m) addressing current issues and short term action steps will be shared with you early next week. If it's ready to go on MONDAY, we will share it with students in class. If not, we will share it as part of TA on Tuesday.

2 - Speaking of TA - more fun activities are coming (both in TA and apart from it) to inject positivity into school during the final two weeks of the year.

3 - The leadership team will be reporting to us soon about a few short term and long term efforts we will help lead related to rebuilding our profoundly positive school culture.

Updates:

Class Oscar photos will be taken on Monday, December 20th during flex with Michele. Since we would like to take the photos outside, we are looking at Wednesday, December 22nd as a rain date.

Athletic Calendar

Our home basketball games will be live streamed on our YouTube channel all season. This is free of charge, and you are all welcome to watch our games from the comfort of your home if you so choose.
