December 3rd - It's getting cold outside....

And when it gets cold, it snows!!! PA Nordic skiers are ready to go!

Winter Sports and other winter activities are back for students. And they are for us, too! We have a long tradition of finding ways to stay connected and healthy during these short and cold days. Getting together after school for quick group skiing in the back of school or a brisk walk through town are some popular examples. Let's find ways to motivate each other to bring some joy, exercise, and positive vibes into our winter months during school days. One opportunity coming up soon is the HITT class offered by Kelly and Marcy. This starts up after the December break and will occur Tuesday's 3:30 at PA (specific location to be announced soon).

Updates/Reminders:

GRADING coming soon..... As we are almost in our final month of the first semester, now is a good time to review your course profile and proficiency alignment for semester-long courses. If you would like support with this process or if you are worried that you will not be able to address all proficiencies aligned to your semester long courses, Maura is available to help. Please reach out to her at Maura.Wieler@lsuu.org.

Mask Breaks: Please, when providing mask breaks, join your students & remind

them that mask breaks are meant to be outside. We are seeing an increase in hallway 'loitering' during class time. *We are bringing back the fire pit (soon) to encourage outdoor breaks.

School Culture:  It is one of those times of year where student behaviors tend to be more challenging and more prevalent than usual. For many of our students, school breaks bring upon lots of anxiety and uncertainty. This manifests itself at school in many different forms: withdrawal, refusal to cooperate, disrespect, wandering, tardiness, anger, hyperactivity, immature decisions, etc.

Please pay particularly close attention to your students and...

- Be extra DILIGENT.

- Be extra PATIENT.

- Be extra PRESENT in the hallways and common spaces

- Report when something goes wrong.

In short, be as much of your awesome selves as possible.

A collective, consistent, and respectful presence from all of us will keep school calm and successful this month.

Back to ballin' means back to basics
