February 10 - Feels like water is running the show this week?!

The road and construction crews were on hand to help out this week.

Thank you to everyone for your patience, sharing, and flexibility with our water issue this week. It looks like we'll be getting our classrooms back soon (with  the exception of the library/lab). The worst damage probably occurred in the breezeway to the outside doors by the library. We're still assessing things, but hopefully were back to some sense of normalness by next week.

“In my classroom, we are all about becoming better thinkers, readers, writers, speakers, and people.”    Dave Stuart Jr. (see below)

ChatGPT: No Thing But a Chicken Wingby Dave Stuart Jr. on his website, January 24, 2023   (....By a Teacher for Teachers...)

In this online article, teacher/writer Dave Stuart Jr. sees ChatGPT as the latest in a succession of digital innovations – MOOC courses, individualized learning platforms, YouTube teaching videos, distance learning – all of which, he says, “made my instructional abilities seem like those of a cognitively average cow.”

Updates:

One of Shannon's many creative and informative displays

Shannon Gile has decided to resign at the conclusion of this academic year. This is a personal and family decision. I'd like to thank her for her TEN YEARS of service to our school and broader community. She's worked hard to engage our students in literacy, technology, tinkering and the ways of the world. Through her diligence, students have been connected with real life authors and books they would have never encountered. She's taken on important statewide leadership roles in the world of librarians and media literacy. Her connection with students will certainly be a loss for many of our students. We will start advertising for a new librarian soon. If you would like to be a part of the process please let Phil know.
