October 20 - the door is closing on Q1

 

It may still feel a little bit like the start of the school year, but, as you know, we are almost done with the first quarter and fall sports are finishing this week (with the exception of soccer playoffs). Most students involved in sports will suddenly have more time on their hands. This is a great time to pull them and others into your flextime (if needed with the quarter closing). There is lots of great energy and students work in the halls and classrooms with exhibits, projects finishing up, guest speakers, and even good old tests. Thanks for your efforts to close out the quarter with thoughtful learning experiences.

Grades - be sure that your gradebook is up to date before next Friday. See Sheila with any concerns or questions. 

Boys Soccer will be hosting Playoffs next Tuesday and, assuming they win, they will host again later in the week (maybe Friday?). The girls team will be on the road. 

UPDATES FROM THE TECH DEPARTMENT:

'Sign-in with Google' permissions go into effect October 23rd. In a few weeks, Google will begin enforcing permissions for the 'Sign-in with Google' option on third party websites. In order for that option to work for our users, we, the tech department, will need to approve each site and set the appropriate level of access. We have already done this for some sites. If you or your students experience issues logging in with Google or can login but have limited functionality, please report the issue by submitting a tech ticket. lssutech@lamoillesouth.org.

Hello,

I am writing to let you know about community service the Elmore church received this past weekend. The church basement was severely damaged during the flooding in July and the space has been unusable for any of our community activities. I reached out to several Elmore high school seniors for help last week and they generously gave their time and energy on Saturday morning to move a lot of furniture back into place. Each of the four students came with a great attitude and were willing to do whatever was necessary. We are so grateful for these students who aided us in our efforts and I wanted to recognize their service!. Their actions do much to inspire others!
