Early Release & In-Service This Week

The 10th graders certainly felt special prior to, during and after the Math Bridge Exam. This positive energy is good for our encouraging and emphasizing the importance of Math, is healthy for our school spirit and culture, and almost certainly will have a positive impact on our results. A lot of people were involved in orchestrating this upbeat and supportive effort toward promoting hard work on this important tool. Thanks to Janet for coordinating, to Bob, Jen C, Mary and Mike for proctoring and helping with lunch and the vision, to the kitchen for preparing the free meal, and to everyone else who joined in on the encouragement.

Congratulations to Grace Safford who once again won a STATEWIDE GOLD MEDAL in the Scholastic Arts & Writing competition. Her GOLD MEDAL winning portfolio consisted of 4 writing peices based on the theme of social issues. She chose this theme and submitted 1 Flash fiction writing and 3 short stories. As a GOLD MEDAL winner, her portfolio now advances to the national competition (where you may remember she won a silver medal in flash fiction last year).
