Prepping for the infamous Grand March.

Thanks for sharing your levels of comfort under the umbrella of PBL. This is hard work and the more we dig the more questions arise. For me, one of the reasons we are transforming into a PBL system, one that increases personalizing the experience for students, is to help students know what they want in life and to guide them to find a path toward this want. The spirit of the PLP is to help create this very path for a student. I believe that when students (humans) truly know what they want they work really hard to get it. Thus, as the year winds down and students finish projects, please look hard for those moments when you see a student start to learn or express what it is they want. Where does this happen? Why does this happen? Capture these moments and save them. It is from these moments that we can build more insight, inspiration, understanding and direction toward designing our PBL system.

And a link to go with this idea: “I don’t know about you, but I’m really bad at being self-disciplined about things I don’t care about.”  David Brooks in “Putting Grit In ItsPlace” in The NY Times 5/10/16       http://www.nytimes.com/2016/05/10/opinion/putting-grit-in-its-place.html?_r=0
