This Week's Link(s):

This month's Cultivating Resilience theme is 'Ride the Wave of Change', with a focus on perseverance. I think part of why they chose April for this theme is because lots of things change in the Spring, such as the weather, the flora, etc. I also think April is one of those times in schools when students, particularly seniors, start looking beyond the day to day to their futures. This is sometimes referred to as 'senioritis'.

It's not just seniors who will need regular and consistent reminders and tools to persevere through June. All of our students will need encouragement, compassion, and coaching to 'stick to it' and to finish strong.

This article is related to perseverance and provides some insights related to the importance for students to be reflective as they work through academic and personal struggles. "The answer isn't taking away challenge, it's giving more tools to deal with challenge." -Carol Dweck
