March 8: Welcome Back
Karaoke much? This crew crushed it. |
Thank you to all the people who helped plan and execute the day before break. You all brought great energy and school felt fun and spirited. Let's keep that energy going and I know we've got some fun stuff in the works for the next community meeting.
I see a mixture of snow and other wintry things in the forecast for Sunday and Monday. I'm sure that brings mixed emotions. I bring it up to remind you that in the case of a delayed opening this is the schedule that we will use on Monday.

A Must Watch Video! Brought to you by the PA Faculty
--------------------------------
Congratulations to the intrepid PA Bridge Building Team, led by veteran teacher Karsten Weiss. This 100% female quartet had a fantastic showing at the international and COLLEGE level 40th annual Troitsky bridge building competition at Concordia University in Montreal, Canada during the break. Among 38 COLLEGE level teams, PA was the only high school team, the only US team, and they dominated by WINNING THE ENTIRE COMPETITION! Congratulations to seniors Gigi Calhoun, Lucy Nigro, Phoenix Masten, and Gabby Shaeffer.
Some highlights are:
* Team Presentation: 3rd place (the team received lots of compliments)
* Strongest Bridge: 2nd Place (it held 5099 lbs; more than last year's strongest bridge at Troitsky)
* Structural Efficiency: 1st Place (we had the 6th lightest and second strongest bridge; very proud of this one)
* Adherence to Required Dimensions: 6th place (only one penalty point)
* Team Spirit: 8th place
* Predicted Load Carrying Capacity: 6th place
Happy Birthday
